Paris, France: Gallimard, 1977. Leather Bound with Half Jackets under Acetate and Slip Case. Faulkner, William. Œuvres romanesques. 1 / edited by Michel Gresset; translated from English by Maurice-Edgar Coindreau, Henri Delgove, René-Noël Raimbault. Paris: Gallimard, 1977. (Bibliothèque de la Pléiade; 269). cxl, 1607 p.; 18 cm. This volume collects five major early novels and related material: Sartoris, The Sound and the Fury, Compson Appendix: 1699–1945, Sanctuary, As I Lay Dying. Contains a gift inscription on the fly-leaft to Mr. William Boozer (editor & publisher of The Faulkner Newsletter & Yoknapatawpha Review). From the personal collection of William Boozer. It is unclear who the signature and inscription belongs to, but many other items in Mr. Boozer's collection were sent to him as gifts from the foreign language editor. This may be the case here, though I cannot confirm. The book is in very good condition with bright and complete half jackets under acetate. Leather bound with gilt patter on spine and gilt lettering. Firmly bound and clean internally apart from the fly-leaf inscription. Slip case is complete and firm apart from a loose corner on the top edge. Very Good / Very Good. Item #457
